Graham Spiers was surely indulging in some sort of ironic joke in his column on Monday, given he was in attendance at Sunday’s game between Hearts and Rangers. In the many moments of tedium induced by two poor teams playing an awful game of football, he must surely have heard some of the 90 minute torrent of bigotry emanating from the Roseburn stand. Of course, Rangers fans are less likely to sing Hello, Hello these days, which must be the ‘great strides’ against bigotry I keep hearing about but never actually witness. The monkey chants aimed at Jose Goncalves were another reprehensible act from a support so steeped in hatred that it’s frankly an embarrassment as a human being to have to share a stadium with them. _________________ Ain't it great to be a TIM. |
